Procurement: Assessment of Market Opportunities in selected agricultural value chains.

The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received financing from the African Development

Bank toward the cost of the Agri-MSMEs Development for Jobs (AMD4J) project and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for Assessment of market opportunities on selected agricultural value chains.

This assessment is a foundational input for evidence-based policymaking, targeted business development support, and strategic investment by both the public and private sectors. The findings will directly inform the Ministry's flagship programs, guide the work of regional job creation organs, and empower MSMEs to make informed, strategic business decisions that can unlock their potential for growth and export

The scope of the service covers the geographic area of the Agri-MSMEs development for jobs project in selected Agri-TVETS catchup areas and prioritize value chains with a broader perspective of the national policy and strategies.

The service includes (i) Multi-Level Market Opportunity and Value Chain Analysis in selected Agri-TVET catch up areas, (ii) Validation workshop to validate the report and (iii) Action Planning and Institutional Capacity Building.

The Ministry of Labor and Skill now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.).

Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification. Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operation (October 2015) which is available on the Bank's website at http://www.afdb.org.
