INVITATION FOR BIDS (IFB)

PDN together with GW invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the construction and supply of materials for the Kamilo, Mederare, and Detakolayita Water Supply Project in Afar Regional State. The procurement will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures in accordance with the Public Procurement and Property Administration Directive (PP2011, EC) of Ethiopia.

The project is divided into the following three lots:

Lot 1 - Civil Works (Dewe woreda, Mederare site, and Talalek woreda, Detakolayita site)

The works include but are not limited to:

  • Construction of water reservoirs
  • Pipeline installation (transmission and distribution)
  • Construction of public water points
  • Construction of livestock troughs and related civil structures

Lot 2-Civil Works (Mille woreda, Kamilo site)

The works include but are not limited to:

  • Construction of reservoirs
  • Pipeline installation (transmission and distribution)
  • Construction of public water supply points
  • Construction of livestock troughs and Related civil structures

Lot 3-Supply of Solar Electro-Mechanical Equipment

The supply includes:

  • Solar photovoltaic modules
  • Solar powered submersible pumps
  • Control panels and electrical accessories
  • Supply and installation materials for solar pumping system

Eligibility Requirements

Bidders must meet the following minimum qualification

requirements:

For Lot 1 and Lot 2

Valid GC/WWC Grade 5 or above contractor license

At least one similar water supply project completed in the last Four years

Availability of qualified technical personnel and equipment

For Lot 3

Eligible supplier or contractor with experience in solar pumping systems

At least two similar supply and installation record in the last Four years

Completion Period

Lot 1: 4 Months

Lot 2: 4 Months

Lot 3: Delivery within 1 Months

Bid Security

All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of 2% of the total bid price in the form of Bank Guarantee, or Certified Payment Order (CPO)

Interested eligible bidders may obtain the bidding documents upon payment of a non-refundable fee of 1,000.00 (One Thousand) ETB from the office of: PDN-Give Water joint EDTF procurement office.

Bid Submission

Bids must be delivered in sealed envelopes to the address below on or before:

Submission Deadline: on the 15th calendar day at 4:00 PM right after announcement of the bid on print and/or digital media,

Bid Opening Date: On the bid closing day right after business hour (5:30pm).

Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend.

Late bids will be rejected.

PDN has the right to cancel the bid if necessary
