INVITATION TO BID

Geneva Global Inc. (GGI-Eth) is an international nongovernmental organization registered as foreign charity under the charity and societies Reg. No. 1724 Act to operate in Ethiopia. GGI-Eth has been implementing inclusive education in partnership with other organizations in the country. Geneva Global Inc would like to purchase student bags for its ECHO RISE program implemented in targeted Woredas of Oromia West Wollega zone and Amhara West Gojam Zone. Therefore, the purpose of this bid is to identify vendors who could deliver the specified items in this bid as per the stated specification on time with competitive price.

Interested and eligible bidders may bring the sealed envelope to Geneva Global Ethiopia office located at Bole Road, Kebede Haile Building, 2nd Floor, next to Oromia International Bank Head Quarter. Bidders are obliged to submit their separate financial and technical documents in sealed envelope. They are also expected to include all documents required for the bidding process.

  • Renewed business registration certificate
  • Valid Tax Clearance/TIN number
  • Certificate of good bid performance or delivery history
  • Bid documents must be stamped and signed by an official organizational representative
  • Bidders must submit names and contacts details of at least three (3) previous customers that have been supplied with similar supplies
  • Samples of the items should be brought with the bid document with the name of the firm.
  • The bid will be closed within Six (6) consecutive calendar days starting from the date of bid announcement July 9,2026 and closed on July 14th 2026, 12:00 pm and opened on July 15th 2:00 PM. The offer, comprising of a technical bid and price schedule, in sealed envelope, should be submitted according to the bid specification in the table in front of bidders.
  • Geneva Global Inc Ethiopia reserves the right to request additional information from prospective bidders and reject any or all bids that do not meet its minimum requirements without any liability, or when considered to be in the best interest of the agency and/or the people it serves.

1. General Description- Standard student backpack suitable for Pre primary school students. Durable, lightweight, and comfortable for daily use. Designed to carry books, exercise materials, and personal items.

2. Material Outer material: High-quality Canvas, or polyester or nylon, tear-resistant and water-repellent.

  • Inner lining: Waterproof material to protect books and stationery from moisture.
  • Zippers: Heavy-duty, rust-resistant, smooth-running with single pullers.

  • Straps: Adjustable, padded shoulder straps with reinforced stitching for durability.

3. Compartments & Pockets: Main compartment: Large enough to carry textbooks and notebooks (A4 size minimum).

  • Secondary compartment: Medium-sized with internal divider for exercise books/stationery.
  • Front pocket: Small zipped pocket for pens, pencils, and small items.
  • Side pockets: At least one water bottle holder with the same material.

4. Dimensions & Capacity

  • Approximate size: Height 40-45 cm, Width 28-32 cm, Depth 15-18 cm.
  • Capacity: 18-25 liters (suitable for school use).
  • Weight: Should not exceed 0.7 kg when empty.

5. Color & Design

  • Dark colors preferred (navy blue, blue, black, or dark green) for easy maintenance.
  • Student bag logo printed on the front side as per organizational branding requirements.

6. Stitching & Reinforcement 2035

  • Double-stitched seams, particularly on stress points (straps, base, and handles).
  • Reinforced padded base and back to withstand daily load comfort.

Note: Priority will be given to a BID winner who can transport the supplies to woreda level. The given price should have to include the transportation costs. From the total 4000 school bags 2000 is for West Gojam zone, (Dembecha and Jabitena woreda) ar 2000 school bags to West Wollega Zone (Gimbi, Nedjo, ManaSibu Woredas).
