(Mass Youth Employment in Apiculture – MaYEA Program)

Bees for Development Ethiopia (BfDE) is a national non-governmental organization operating across Ethiopia to improve community livelihoods through training and technical support in beekeeping and natural resource management.

Under the Mass Youth Employment in Apiculture (MaYEA) Program (2024–2028), implemented in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation and ORDA Ethiopia, BfDE works to create dignified and fulfilling job opportunities for unemployed youth.

Based in Bahir Dar City, Kebele 13, Mulu Belew Building, 2nd Floor, Office No. 14, Bees for Development Ethiopia (BfDE) hereby invites eligible suppliers to submit their sealed financial proposals for the supply and delivery of Beekeeping Equipment, Electronics, and Stationery items through open competitive bidding.

Requirements and Instructions to Bidders

  1. Open bid documents can be obtained from the BfDE Main Office in Bahir Dar City, Kebele 13, Mulu Belew Building, 2nd Floor, Office No. 14, within 10 consecutive days from the date of this announcement.
  2. Bidders must provide a current and valid Business License, Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), Value Added Tax (VAT) Certificate, and proof of tax payment for the current fiscal year.
  3. Bidders must submit photocopies of all required legal documents mentioned in Item No. 2 along with their bid documents.
  4. Bidders can obtain the bidding documents from Office No. 14 upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 500.00 (Five Hundred Birr only).
  5. Bidders must provide a bid bond equal to 2% of the total bid value, in the form of a Certified Payment Order (CPO) or an unconditional bank guarantee.
  6.  Bidders must submit their financial proposals using their own price quotation form, duly filled, signed, and stamped in a sealed envelope.
  7. Bidders shall not be entitled to any deductions or omissions in the tender document submitted at a single price.
  8. Bids must be submitted in the bid box provided at Office No. 14, 2nd Floor, Mulu Belew Building, within 10 consecutive days from the publication date.
  9. Bids will be sealed on the 10th consecutive day at 5:00 PM and opened on the 11th consecutive day at 9:30 AM in the presence of bidders or their legal representatives. If the opening date falls on a non-working day, it will take
    place on the next working day at the same time.
  10. The winning bidder is expected to sign the contract agreement and the Supplier Code of Conduct within one (1) day of notification.
  11. The organization reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in whole or in part at any time.
  12. The successful bidder shall, in addition to fulfilling the bid announcement requirements, enter into and be bound by the Contract Agreement of Bees for Development Ethiopia (BfDE) and comply with all its terms and conditions throughout the contract period.
