SPECIFIC NATIONAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE (SNPN)

Purchase of Broiler Hatching Eggs

1. Invitation to Bid

Modjo Poultry Farm invites eligible bidders to submit bids for the supply of broiler hatching eggs under a contract for the hatchery requirements of the Buyer.

2. Description of Goods and Preferred Breeds

The procurement covers broiler hatching eggs of the following preferred breeds:

• Hubbard, or
• Cobb500, or
• Ross308

(Bidders shall offer the requested breed(s) and comply with the Mandatory Quality Specifications and other requirements in the bid document.)

3. Bid Submission Duration

Bids shall be submitted in person at Modjo Poultry Farm HQ, Ija Tower, Bole Michael, 4th floor for a duration of 15 (fifteen) calendar days starting from the date of announcement.

Late bids shall be rejected.

4. Quantity

Quantity/Estimated requirement: 600,000 (six hundred thousand)

5. Delivery Period / Delivery Schedule

The winning supplier shall supply the broiler hatching eggs:

• Deliver the first 50,000 (fifty thousand) within 10 (ten) calendar days after contract award. The subsequent deliveries will be done every 2 weeks.

Delivery shall be made to the delivery location: Modjo Poultry Farm Hatchery, Modjo Town, East Shewa zone, Oromia regional state.

6. Mandatory Quality Specifications (Supplier Guarantees)

The Supplier guarantees that all supplied hatching eggs shall meet the following minimum conditions:

1. Fertility rate: greater than 90%.

2. Flock age (parent stock): between 30 and 50 weeks of age.

3. Egg size and weight: medium size, 55 to 65 grams per egg.

4. Egg shell quality: crack-free shell and shell thickness between 0.33 mm and 0.35 mm.

5. Egg shape: normal oval-shaped eggs.

6. Parent stock health status: disease-free and vaccinated against major diseases.

7. Supplier reliability/capability: Supplier must be a certified hatchery and breeder farm with proven production and biosecurity standards.

8. Egg age (storage age): eggs shall be below 6 days from lay date at dispatch.

9. Packing integrity: eggs must be packed to prevent breakage and contamination during
handling and transit.

(Any evidence/documentation required to substantiate the above requirements shall be provided as specified in the bid document.)

7. Eligibility Criteria (Bidders)

Bidders shall meet the eligibility criteria stated in the bid document, including (as applicable):

• Legal registration and authorization to supply the required goods
• Capability to supply the requested breeds within the delivery time (10 days after contract award)
• Submission of required bid forms and documents
• Compliance with all Mandatory Quality Specifications and submission requirements

8. Bid Security

Bidders shall submit bid security of 2% of the total bid amount.

9. Bid Validity

Bid validity shall be as specified in the bid document.

10. Evaluation and Award Criteria

Bids will be evaluated and the contract awarded in accordance with the national procurement regulations and criteria set out in the bid document, including:

• Compliance with Mandatory Quality Specifications
• Technical capacity and reliability to meet delivery within the required time
• Bid completeness and responsiveness
• Price and other evaluation factors specified in the bid document

11. Bid Documents and Clarifications

Bid documents shall be obtained through the official online procurement platform from the date of announcement.

Questions/clarifications must be submitted through the procurement process and within the time limits stated in the bid document.
