National Insurance Company of Ethiopia S.C (NICE) is seeking to appoint External Auditors to undertake the audit of its consolidated Financial Statements and accounts for the year ended June 30, 2027, and the following two years.

Background

National Insurance Company of Ethiopia S.C (NICE) was established in 1994 and is a pioneer of the privately owned Insurance Companies in Ethiopia. If provides conventional and innovative Non-Life (General) insurance products and services through its well-located 48 Branches and 7 Contact offices situated in Addis Ababa and different parts of the country.

NICE would like to appoint External Auditors to undertake the audit of the consolidated Financial Statements and accounts of the company for the year ended June 30, 2027 and the next two years thereafter, in accordance to the following criteria.

1. The bidder shall be a Chartered Certified Accountant or an audit firm duly licensed and authorized by the Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia (AABE) to audit Public Interest Entities (PIES).
2. As the National Insurance Company of Ethiopia S.C. prepares its financial statements in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts, the external auditor must demonstrate substantial experience and technical competence in auditing insurance companies under IFRS. The engagement team should possess proven knowledge and practical experience in IFRS 17, as well as other applicable IFRS standards relevant to insurance operations.
3. Eligible bidders shall submit copies of their currently valid Trade License, Tax Identification Number (TIN), and VAT Registration Certificate together with all other required legal and regulatory documents.
4. The bidder shall submit separate Technical and Financial Proposals in sealed envelopes to the Company's Head Office, HR & Facility Management Department, 5th floor, no later than 15 August 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
5. Preference may be given to audit firms with demonstrated experience in auditing insurance companies and providing assurance services within the Ethiopian insurance industry.
6. National Insurance Company of Ethiopia S.C reserves all rights to accept or reject any or all bids.
